How to Choose the Best Tennis Racquet that Offers You Ample Control?

The control racquets are meant for advanced players who have already developed their game techniques and are capable of generating enough power. Racquets that are meant for game control feature smaller head and frame and can also weigh a lot. Some of them can weigh even about 11.5 ounces. Look for the following features in the racquet you are planning to buy so that it complements your gaming style.

1. Head size:

The head size or the area where the strings are located in the racquet is indeed the big factor that is responsible for power transfer to the ball through the swing. A racquet with a large head helps in ample power transfer, and also renders a larger sweet spot. A racquet with a smaller head however transmits less power but offers tremendous control. Transmitting less power should not be a problem for advanced players as they have already gained enough power and a promising game technique.

2. Length of the racquet:

The length of the racquet plays a major role in its maneuverability. A long racquet feels heavy while swinging, but the greater the swing weight, the greater is the range. Even those additional two centimeters can be helpful while service. The maximum length of the tennis racquet could be around 29 inches.

3. Weight of the racquet:

Heavier racquets carry more mass, and they transfer all the power to the ball and remain more stable when they go through the ball. A lighter racquet also carrier power, but a heavier one helps the racquet to remain more stable at the point of impact, without being moved by the ball.

4. A frame of the racquet:

The hardness of the frame describes the degree of deformation the ball experiences when it hits the string. Manufacturers now produce very light rackets, and for them to withstand the stress of a serious tennis match, a certain degree is the hardness is mandatory. Thus the frame of the racquet should be hard to transfer all the energy to the ball.

5. String pattern:

The string ratio determines the number of crosses and long strings on the racquet. A racquet with a tighter string pattern renders more control, whereas a more open string pattern renders more spin through more string movement. This thus results in more friction and ultimately excellent control and large string wear.

Choosing the Best Racquet that Offers the Desired Control

Choosing the best racquet that offers the player’s desired level of control is a matter of personal choice. Every racquet is different and each of them come with their pros and cons. The players who spend enough time is playing the game should take enough time to choose their racquet. They should go for big brands like Wilson, Babolat, Head, etc. so that they find something worth their training. Choose racquets with high-quality material, so that they stay for a long time. 1. In my recreational career of 5 years, I have not seen a better racquet for control than Babolat Pure Strike. It is by far the best control tennis racquet that I have used personally, Although it does lack a bit of power, that is ok for me as I look for better control in my shots.
